However, both Reeve’s wife Dana and their doctor John MacDonald believed that an adverse drug reaction caused Reeve’s death.Entries will be accepted from a person living with paralysis or from a friend or family member of the person who would benefit from the wheelchair. Eighteen hours later, on 10 October 2004, Reeve died at the age of 52. At the age of 16, he began to suffer from alopecia areata, a condition that leads to the loss of healthy scalp hair. Reeve suffered from asthma and allergies since childhood. Due to his busy schedule, he ate candy bars and drank coffee in place of meals and hence faced exhaustion and malnutrition.
